IIT Bhubaneswar (IIT BBSR) in collaboration with Husk Power has indtalled a Micro Grid Solar Power Plant which is a Research & Development (R&D) initiative, executed in a remote region of Odisha, located on a hilltop and surrounded by dense forest. The primary objective of this project was to provide reliable night-time electricity to support the daily livelihood and safety of the local tribal community, where grid access is limited and terrain conditions are extremely challenging. The project consists of a 50 kW hybrid microgrid power plant, comprising: 30 kW Solar Power; 10 kW Biogas Power; 10 kW Biomass Power and 720 Ah Battery Backup for uninterrupted night-time operation Despite difficult site conditions and remote accessibility, our team successfully completed the entire project within a 30-day timeline, with strong technical and logistical support from IIT Bhubaneswar. This project stands as a significant step toward sustainable, decentralized energy solutions for remote and forested regions of India.
